...a place to figure stuff out, a place to get reaquainted with who you are and who you were always meant to be...a place to restore...
WHAT IT IS: 3.5 days of life lessons, soul searching, and fun, with a dozen other men around a campfire in a tipi.

WHERE: Star, Idaho, othe banks of the Boise River.

WHEN: June 6-9, 2017
             October 24-27, 2017

WHY: Because ALL humans need a place to come figure stuff out. A place where theyll be supported and assisted, and not judged. Because the world needs whole, healed people who love themselves. We believe the world is changed one person at a time — and Man Camp is absolutely life-changing.

WHO IT IS FOR:

Any man who is ready to look at his life and tell himself the truth about how important his life is, how unlimited his potential is, and how important it is for him to take responsibility for his life so that he can be the best he can be.

Any man who is wanting to make a personalized plan that makes sense to him… according to his own beliefs and values, his strengths and weaknesses, his personality and talents and his life circumstances.

Any man who is tired of living on auto-pilot.

Any man who needs the time and space to figure things out, and an efficient and effective process to get there.

Any man who has been thinking that there has got to be a better way to do things that feels more true to himself.

Any man who has been feeling unseen, unheard, minimized, numb, lost, hopeless, angry and confused about the future.
It's Hard to be a Human...
The following is a personal message from Melody Ross, author of curriculum taught at Man Camp.

I have spent a lot of years trying to figure out who I am…kind of relentlessly. I used to have a really mixed up, messed up, lie-filled belief about who I am. I am learning that it’s the same for a lot of us. A lot of us not only don’t really know who we are….but we believe we are a lot of things that we are not.

I think that a lot of people believe that they have some big debt to pay, and they try every minute of their lives to do it, and the debt just seems to grow. If you asked them what the debt was for, if they could put words to it…a lot of them would say that they are trying to earn their place in the world and they have to make up for being so un-good, so un-right, so un-perfect…..they have to pay more than anyone in the history of life has ever had to pay because otherwise, they will get kicked out of anywhere and anything good that has ever happened to them….there are so many who believe that there is not a place for them in this world unless they pay dearly for it. Where does this belief come from? Well, it comes from neglect, abuse, abandonment…it comes from broken parents and caretakers….it comes from their own heads, even…..from mistakes that were made along the way that they think we have to suffer for to repay….and the suffering pretty much has to happen for the rest of life…..because this ambiguous debt is so big.

This line of thinking can destroy a society…it can destroy a family….because it destroys the individual who thinks it, who really and truly believes it. It can waste a whole life and make it into one big pile of suffering.

But it’s a REALLY REALLY REALLY hard belief to unwind…..because it is so deeply rooted…..because life has a way of validating it and making it seem true. When something bad happens, we might think it is part of our payment for being so un-good, unworthy, un-right or un-perfect. So we deal with life on those terms. When something good happens…….we might enjoy it for a moment before the panic sets in and we start calculating how much deeper into debt we are going to be if we indulge in this happiness, this joy, this peace, this goodness, this love………so then we put our hand up and say “oh no thank you, this is not for me” or we sabotage it, or we run from it…..and if it is scary enough, we might even try to destroy it. It’s not that we don’t want it…it’s just that we know for sure that we can’t pay for something that good. We are already so far behind and just trying to pay for the space our body takes up in the world….and doing that is already a full time job. Add on some goodness, some pleasure, some love, some comfort, some peace……..it’s just too much and too impossible.

I’m gonna venture to guess MOST PEOPLE in the world are scrambling around our planet believing this lie. We have to change it, and we have to start with ourselves.

We have to restore back to who we actually are.
"My life will forever be different after Man Camp—from the changes I saw in myself, and in my brothers around me. The lens through which I view the world has been changed. I see someone walking the aisles at the grocery store, riding the ramps at the skatepark, sitting next to me at a stoplight… and I know they are a soul. I see them the way I saw the men around the campfire with me. I know each and every one of us—you and me and everyone—has a story that weaves through the whole spectrum of joy and despair. And almost every single one of us is just doing our best to navigate a confusing world." -Brock

“I felt like Soul Restoration [at Man Camp] accomplished the goal of finding the core truth that is within me and is mine and is immovable.  I may have forgotten it was there.   Then building upon that core I can manage the way others affect me, and I can make choices about how I interact with them.” -Jed
What Am I Going to Learn at Man Camp?
Years ago, we founded Brave Girls Club and had our first Brave Girl Camp retreat—a safe place where women could come to figure stuff out, to get to know their soul better, to heal past hurts.

Our core curriculum taught at camp, called Soul Restoration, has been grown and evolved and perfected over 7 years of camps, Soul Restoration online classes, and thousands of women’s lives changed forever. That was always our mission—changing the world, one brave girl at a time.

The Soul Restoration curriculum is not a feminine curriculum though—it’s built on simple, universal human truths. This has always been the case since the beginning, and the demand for a “man” version of Brave Girl Camp has been huge since our very first camp. And now, after years of working and tweaking and testing and waiting for stars to align, Man Camp is here. We could not be more overjoyed to finally bring this life-changing curriculum to all people.

At Man Camp, we gather with a little over a dozen men in our humongous custom-built tipi, complete with a fire pit—because there’s just something magical about the way human souls connect with a glowing campfire. For three and a half days, we dive wholeheartedly into Soul Restoration… mainly, this takes place via lessons delivered by an instructor, followed by journaling exercises. We also spend time in our circle together sharing our stories and experiences (completely electively; you are not required to share anything at camp if you don’t want to). The Ranch, where camp is held, is a beautifully maintained 7-acre property on the river, and ample time is provided to explore it all, as well as to reflect beneath the trees in quiet solitude on the lessons each day.

Lunch and dinner are home-cooked by our one-in- a-million camp chef, Nancy—her food alone is worth the flight out to Boise. And, amidst all of the hard soul work, we have an absolute blast playing games, getting to know each other, and building friendships that will last a lifetime.

Lodging is just up the river at the beautiful Eagle Hilton Garden Inn, about 15 minutes from The Ranch. We provide all transportation to and from the hotel each morning and night.

We are deeply, fanatically passionate about what we do… we do everything in our power to make camp a fun, comfortable, awe-inspiring, and life-changing experience for every man who comes—and we would absolutely love to have you.

There’s already a spot saved for you around the campfire.

So... What's Soul Restoration?

Soul Restoration, is a heart-penetrating course. This soulful curriculum and processes found in it, one by one, give each individual tools to get unstuck, back on track and restored back to their best selves.

A deeply meaningful and effective method of soul work, it is also fun, enjoyable, entertaining, thought-provoking and extremely relatable for everyone from every walk of life… after all, we are all souls.

Over the last decade, Soul Restoration has helped thousands of people from all over the world and proven to be effective at helping individuals to really hear their own soul again… to remember what brings the most joy, to know of and remember all of the things they are good at and meant to do, to get aligned with their own deepest truth and unleash the courage and motivation to stay aligned and on their own path…to reunite with their souls.

This class is a process based method of helping people to become deeply reacquainted with their deepest selves through remembering and reuniting with their inner Truth Teller. Each individual is coached through discerning what is true about who they are… discerning truth from lies that hold us back as humans and make us feel less than who we are. This course will help each individual to remember their dreams, their potential, their gifts and talents, the possibilities and the unique answer for each of their individual lives (because it is different for each of us).

This curriculum is intended to help each participant to find and then keep the courage needed to to stay true to themselves, their truth and their own path.

Because it takes bravery to guide your life by truths once they have been found and remembered, and to put aside voices that are confusing, judgmental and opinionated this curriculum is intended to continue beyond the end of the course… giving each individual a set of skills and effective tools that will carry them throughout their life as new challenges come along.

Questions & Answers

What airport do I fly into?
Boise, Idaho (BOI)

What time should I book my flights?
Your flight will need to arrive on Tuesday by 2:00 pm. You’ll be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle, ID, which is about 30 minutes from the Boise airport. There is shuttle service available, provided by the Hilton. You will need to call the Hilton when you arrive to schedule a shuttle pick up, or if you are getting in at the last minute, you may need to take a cab in order to make it. The Brave Bus will pick you up at the Hilton at 4:00 pm on Tuesday and take you to the Brave River Ranch. Camp ends at the Ranch late on Friday night, so you will be able to schedule your return flight at any time on Saturday. Checkout is noon, so take your time if you can and plan a relaxing morning at the Hotel with your new friends.

What kind of weather should I expect?
Idaho has four distinct seasons with everything from hot weather in the summer to snowy days in the winter. We will be in touch when your camp nears to let you know what to expect.

What should I bring with me?
We’ll be in contact with you when you register and we’ll provide you with a packing list. We make it easy to travel light—usually it’s just clothes and maybe a couple basic office supplies.

What about computers and phones?
We are 100% unplugged at Man Camp. We ask that you leave your laptops and iPads and such at home and turn OFF cell phones for the duration of camp. This is a very important part of what makes camp so special. Don’t worry — your loved ones will have an emergency contact number so that you can be reached if needed. You deserve this to be the best experience possible and unplugging is a critical part of that. (When was the last time you were in a room with a group of people where no one was texting or checking their messages?) You’ll be able to really focus on yourself and the incredible experiences you are having. Trust us – it’ll be okay.

Can you work around food allergies?
We can definitely feed you if you have food allergies or intolerances! Several men have come to Man Camp who are allergic to gluten, eggs, dairy, soy, nuts, and a plethora of other foods. If you need a special menu, just let us know and we’ll make sure that your meals are delicious and awesome so that you can have a stellar experience just like anyone else.

What is a typical day at Camp like?
A typical day at Man Camp starts off with having breakfast at the hotel with your fellow campers. We will then pick you up on our bus around 9:00am and drive you to Brave River Ranch where the morning begins with a lesson. We will feed you a wonderful lunch and delicious snacks in the afternoon. You will have time to journal, time to work on projects, time to take a walk along the river path, time to talk with other campers, time to play yard games, and time to do whatever else might be calling your name. At dinner time we gather inside and enjoy an incredible meal together, followed by a delectable dessert, of course. The evenings include more time to work on projects, share sessions around the campfire, music, laughter, and many surprises we can’t tell you about yet. At the end of the night, you will return back to the hotel for a restful night of sleep so you can do it all over again the next day!

With an experienced staff, your every need will be considered and attended to. We strive to make every detail memorable and special... nothing is overlooked.

Man Camp is the experience of a lifetime. Our goal is to make sure that you have the time of your life while making lifelong friendships, and especially that you go back to your life a stronger, more joyful man, feeling on-track and ready to be exactly who you are and to do exactly what is in your heart.

When and where is Camp held?
Man Camp is held in the small town of Star, Idaho on a beautiful piece of secluded property nestled right along the Boise River. We call it Brave River Ranch. We have spent year after year making it beautiful, a place where you will feel how important you are to us and a place where you can feel comfortable and peaceful. We love Idaho and want to share all of the reasons why, and the Ranch is the perfect place to do that.
